Pace to Teach Tai Chi at Bell Art Space
Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm
For more than a hundred years, the two-block Bell School campus anchored New Orleans’ Treme neighborhood as a place for education, music training, and cultural development. Abandoned since Hurricane Katrina in 2005, these five extraordinary buildings have been given a new life as the former Bell School’s historic role as a center of the community.
The Bell Artspace Campus project transformed the three largest building of the former Bell School into 79 units of affordable live/work housing for low-to moderate-income artists, cultural works, and families. The project also re-established many of the former Bell School’s creative and common spaces (e.g., band room, gym and chapel building) for creative use by the Bell Artspace Campus residents and commercial tenants.
PACE GNO is proud to host a seated Tai Chi class at this space for those interested in body wellness. PT GNO staff member Lori LeDuff and OT staff member Alecia Oden will lead a class not unlike the classes currently being taught in the PACE wellness center while members of the enrollment team discuss the benefits of joining the PACE program for those eligible and interested in the PACE model of care.
For residents of the Bell Artspace community only
